The L.A. Mart, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, is the place to shop not only during gift shows, but on a daily basis as well. It offers buyers a large assortment of showrooms that are open 5 days a week from 9-5. The LA Mart today, houses more then 250 wholesale showrooms representing more then 1000 product lines. On any Tuesday, if you make an appointment with a showroom, your parking will be paid for by the Gift Association which has an active roll in promoting the Mart and its showrooms. Joanne Rackow, owner of Joanne & Company, is also president of the Gift Association. The Gift Association developed a Retail Advisory Board which held its first meeting in February. The L.A. Mart opened July 14, 1958 as a Furniture Mart. It was in the 1970’s that the Mart opened its doors to the gift trade and became a multi use building. Change is always in the air as is evident with the beautiful new lobby that was renovated in January of this year under the direction of Michael Kessler, General Manager of the LA Mart. The 2nd floor is home of the Temporaries @ L.A. Mart, which is a continual draw to our building during January & July gift shows. This flexible 48,000 square foot exhibit hall will also be host to other industry trade shows in the near future.
